A classy hotel within a short drive to Stratford and Anne Hathaways cottage. Breakfast was well catered for and we chose it as they allow pets . We hope to visit again for longer next time. Rooms were excellent and well thought out, iron , hairdryer, bathrobes and fridge all in room.

Stayed here for a 2 night stay at the end of April. The room we were allocated was quite small but ok for the short time we were there. Small but refurbished bathroom with toiletries provided. Adequate wardrobe storage. Comfortable bed and generally very clean. Pub is lovely for a drink or a meal and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. Approximately 5 miles from Stratford upon Avon so really good location.

We went at Easter, for cycling and the Shakespeare tours. The hotel was convenient for the town, alongside the canal. We had possibly the best rooms on the second floor overlooking the canal at the back, very clean spacious rooms, comfortable beds.As we booked months ahead and without a refund option it was good value at £50.50 a night including unlimited breakfast.Parking was extra at £5.50 a day.

The service was great! There was an error with room allocation and as the booked room was not available, we got upgraded to a suite which was wonderful as we were celebrating a special milestone birthday. The dinner at the Trevellyn Restaurant was beyond expectation as we were vegetarian and the vegetarian meal prepared by the chef was awesome. The hotel decor itself looked a little tired although it added to the authentic look of the listed building. It was a hot weekend during our stay and although there was no air conditioning, a small fan was provided which made a little difference when sleeping at night. The gardens needed some upkeep and it would have been lovely if the fountains had been working. Overall we did enjoy our stay and look forward to coming back again after it has gone through some upgrading and refurbishing.

This hotel is well suited to the old phrase ‘fur coat, no knickers’. The main reception rooms are beautiful, but the actual accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. £229 felt like a huge sum of money for a random night in October, in a tatty room, with stains on the walls, chipped paint work that in places was more chip than paint, blackened grout in the bathroom, 1950s metal & single glazed prefab style windows and a door which looked as if it had been bust open at some point (nothing like making your guests feel safe). Also deciding to give the spa a swerve, on the basis that a quick look didn’t inspire much confidence, we were truly disappointed with this hotel & would not recommend it to anyone based on our experience. The stay was supposed to be a treat, but the decor is in dire need of a serious face lift. Interestingly, the person who checked us out did not ask if everything was satisfactory, or if we had enjoyed our stay. It was as if she knew it was a total rip off. For somewhere which oozes polished antique charm in its public rooms, Alveston Manor seemed somewhat hypocritical and grossly over-priced behind the scenes.

Start your Stratford story at the heart of the historical old town, while staying bang up to date with our modern, spacious rooms, super-comfy beds and tasty restaurant. Follow in the footsteps of the Bard at Shakespeare's birthplace and Anne Hathaway's Cottage, see the drama come to life on stage, or go with the flow on the River Avon. Whatever you get up to out and about, we'll guarantee a great night's sleep - but we can't promise a Midsummer Night's Dream.

Bed was very old and small and incredibly uncomfortable room 2007Air conditioning (which didn’t appear to be air conditioning) was very loud and useless, room was so hot and stuffy- as was the hotel, especially this side of the building. Table fan provided which helped cool the room slightly.TV kept turning its self on throughout the night.Only English tea- no earl grey.Shower was a dribble of water. No room service after 9:30 which was very disappointing and no suggestions of where we could order food from elsewhere. Bar shut and no drinks for guests. The room was a long way from reception and lift. Good points- public areas are lovely, garden really pretty and plenty of space.Room sizes are very big, shame about tiny TV and bed

This is a well placed traditional hotel. It offers basic bedroom accommodation with ensuite.Food and drink is offered by way of an independently run ”Bistro”.We only had breakfast. The bar closed at 10pm (before we returned from the play so not available to us.Breakfast was a disappointment by modern European standards and also compared with the average b&b. The breakfast options were variations on a cooked breakfast with toast and the possibility of croissants or alternative french type breakfast patisserie.Cereals were limited cornflakes or similar/Coffee was served nicely and appeared to be (and was called ) Americano i.e. not quite strong enough for the espresso lover. There was no hot milk so coffee was essentially lukewarm and weak.Muesli or fruit were absent. The scrambled eggs were overcooked. The staff were friendly and helpful but appeared overworked. Brexit and lack of alternative staff clearly taking its toll.So many ways the breakfast experience could be improved. All this is a pity because the location and the reasonably priced parking make for an ideal spot.

The hotel is located in the city center, 15 minutes walk from the railway station with luggage, 5 to 10 minutes walk to Shaon’s former residence, and 2 minutes on a road in Shaweng New Residence. The location is very convenient. The town is very beautiful, the entire city centre is not too big, and the day is enough to turn around. Hotel facilities are old, but very clean, the rooms are medium in size, the bathrooms are extremely clean and large enough. Breakfast is a typical English breakfast, coffee and tea waiters will be handed over to you, and the overall service is very friendly.
